Dear college of my dreams:
I’m not going to elaborate on how perfect a student I am. Because I’m not. I’m not going to pretend that school is the most important thing to me. I have a pretty well-established list of priorities. Family is the first on that list, because no matter how disappointing life is, my family is the one thing that fulfills me. I’ve spent so much of my life dedicated to, or rather, obsessed with, my school career, but it is because of my family’s support that I’ve been able to overcome even the toughest of challenges. It is because of my family that I’ve had the opportunity to have a good education. It is because of my family that I am here today. And I feel like many teens my age take that for granted. Where would they be without their parents? They would be nothing but a floating spirit longing to become somebody. So, my point is, if you are looking for someone whose sole reason for getting an higher education is for a grade or even for something as silly as bragging rights, I am not the person for you. Education is important to me so that I may grow up doing a career that can better the world and, ultimately, inspire my future family to carry out their dreams.
